Meeting Old Friends, Making New Ones
Last week’s book signing event at the Port Clinton Arts Garage turned out to be more than just a literary gathering—it became a heartfelt reunion full of memories, laughter, and surprises.
As always, I enjoyed meeting fellow readers, signing copies of my book, and talking about the inspiration behind my writing. But one unexpected moment truly stood out.
A Blast from the Past
Among the attendees was Julie Minderman Rosiar, a former classmate from Port Clinton High School, where I graduated in 1973 and served as Student Council President.
To my complete surprise, Julie brought with her something truly nostalgic—my original campaign poster from our high school election over 50 years ago! She had kept it all these years and thought it would be fun to bring it along. (I have to admit, seeing that poster again brought back a flood of memories—and a good laugh too!)

“You never know what the past will hand you,” I joked. “Sometimes it’s a memory—and sometimes it’s cardboard!”
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event, to the staff at the Arts Garage for their hospitality, and of course, to Julie for the sweet surprise.
It’s moments like these that make writing—and sharing that writing with the world—so deeply meaningful.
Until the next signing,
– Jeff
